Casa Vacanze Alla Pieve di Lucignano

We found the hosts very hospitable, and the scenery, food, and wine were lovely. The place is peaceful and well positioned for easy car day trips with family or friends, whether into Tuscany's beautiful cities or out to the sea. Siena and plenty of other spots are easy to reach, with museums, Roman terme, archaeological sites, old churches and abbeys, local vineyards, and cosy wine tasting places to explore. For drives of up to about 30 minutes: Siena, Murlo, Buonconvento, Asciano, Montalcini, and San Quirico d'Orcia. In roughly an hour: Bagno Vignoni, Pienza, Montepulciano, Volterra, San Gimignano, Monteriggioni, Abbey of San Galgano, Monticiano, Greve in Chianti, and Arezzo. Florence, Monte Argentario, Castiglione della Pescaia, Acqua Village Follonica, Acqua Village Vecina, and Pisa are around 1-2 hours away.

The staff were wonderful with our 3 year old, and so friendly and helpful. They made a nice restaurant with good food into a brilliant spot.

The owners really made the stay. They love Siena and the surrounding area, and patiently shared local customs and advice with a smile, always ready to help guests. The property is clean and comfortable, well-connected yet in a quiet spot, with lots of outdoor space to relax. There’s no air conditioning, but we didn’t need it: it was always breezy and the apartment felt airy. Five stars don't quite cover how well we were treated. If we get the chance, we’ll definitely return.

The owners were extremely kind and attentive to whatever we needed. The cozy apartments have enchanting views and are near the ancient Via Francigena. I'd happily repeat the experience.
