Green Balera

We felt like part of the family here, and we’ll certainly come back whenever we’re in Salento. The welcome started with cold drinks and a fruit basket from Mr. Gino and his family. Gianluigi and Federica were always kind and available, keeping the rooms clean, tidy, and in good working order. Our room was fresh, air-conditioned, and had all the amenities we needed. Meals were a highlight: breakfast was generous, with pastries, croissants, and cakes made by Pinuccia and Francesco. For dinner there were traditional Salento dishes, and they were glad to adjust the menu when we asked. Fresh water came with every meal, and Francesco and Pinuccia made excellent pizzas, "pittole," focaccias, and other Apulian specialties. The whole family runs the place with real care and puts guests first. Its location also works well for visiting both the beaches and Lecce’s historic center. Thanks for making our holiday so memorable.

Mr. Luigi is a visionary, old-school kind of host who’s always ready to help with what guests need. The place began as a dance hall and gradually grew to include B&B rooms. Nearby soccer fields are currently closed. We came across it by chance, and at first the somewhat dated furnishings gave us pause, though there was air conditioning and a state-of-the-art TV. For a family of four, the price is roughly what you’d pay for a pizza. It may not feel like a typical B&B, but it’s an experience worth trying.

The owner is brilliant 💪. This is a family-run restaurant with a very basic, clean setup and a 70s-style dance hall attached. They have dancing on weekends, plus pizza and drinks at 70s-style prices. For €10.00, you get excellent pizza from the wood-fired oven. A real old-school Apulian experience!
