We had a really comfortable stay, and the rooms were spotless. Breakfast was excellent, with homemade food, and one morning they even served it around 12:00 because the owner was staying there. The B&B is just outside Lecce in a lovely spot and has parking. The welcome was so warm and kind that we'll definitely come back. The owner's three dogs and cat were sweet and cuddly, never a bother.

My wife and I have now stayed here three times, and we've been happy with the choice every time. Massimo and Roberto make you feel genuinely cared for, with hearty breakfasts of croissants, juice, cakes, and homemade jams from their orchard. It's a peaceful spot in the Lecce countryside, handy for exploring Salento's historic and natural sights, with the region's best beaches easy to reach. A lovely place to recharge, and surely one of the best places to stay while visiting Salento.

The kindness and friendly manner of the two people I met at Il Gelso made a big difference while I was there for my state exams. It felt like being with family and helped take the fatigue out of those days. With its almost magical atmosphere, comfort, and professionalism, the stay became unforgettable. I'd recommend it to anyone wanting to make a visit to Lecce more enjoyable.
