We stayed on the second floor, up two long flights of stairs, and had a terrace with a beautiful sunset view. Il sogno is only a short walk from the old city. The room itself was simple, spotless, and good value. Franca was a friendly host and made plenty of delicious pastries for breakfast. She also runs a small factory downstairs, making sheets, tablecloths, and holiday linens. I liked the sheets we slept on so much that I bought a set. We visited in November 2019 during the olive harvest and could smell the olives. One thing to know: we walked to the old city around 2 p.m. looking for lunch and found nothing, since places close in the afternoon. I understand there is a bus to Matera. We drove to Craco one day and Bari another.

We arrived on Epiphany Day and Mrs. Franca greeted us right away. She was so kind, warm, helpful, and full of positive energy. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, the location was excellent, and breakfast was delicious. I had a long conversation with Mrs. Franca, my husband and I will always remember her fondly. ❤️ Highly recommended!

Everything was welcoming, clean, and tidy. Mrs. Franca is a real force of nature and takes care of every detail. The rooms and bathrooms were excellent. I can only recommend this place.

Mrs. Franca's breakfast was a real treat: she makes it herself, with cake, biscuits, jams, croissants, and more. The rooms were clean and tidy too. She is such a kind, always available woman, like a mother, and someone who feels like she's from another era, which you don't come across much anymore. It was a wonderful stay, and we'll definitely return. I'd recommend this B&B to anyone visiting Montescaglioso or the surrounding area.
