We only had three nights here, and wished we’d booked longer. The apartment was one of the loveliest places we’ve stayed: clean, well equipped, and with proper beds. It sits high on the hill, in a beautiful spot not far from Florence. Even with temperatures over 40, the nights stayed comfortable thanks to a cool breeze, and the mosquito screens meant we could leave the windows open. Rolf also gave us great ideas for seeing nearby towns and countryside. We had an amazing stay and will definitely come back.

The peaceful setting and pool are hard to forget. We spent lazy days by the water, and I already miss breakfast and coffee on the terrace with the mountains in view. There’s plenty to explore both nearby and farther away. The team, especially Rolf, made us feel looked after. The mattress in our first room was too soft for us, and after two nights Rolf kindly moved us to a room with a firmer one because of my partner’s back pain. This is one of the most beautiful places I’ve stayed. I’d give it six stars if I could, and we’ll be back ❤️🤍💚

The pool and grounds were beautifully maintained, with lovely views from around the pool and the outdoor seating areas by both apartments. My wife and I stayed in one apartment, and another couple stayed in the second, from August 3rd to August 10th, 2019. Both places were comfortable and had plenty of character. Rolf and Beate made us feel welcome from the start and added a lot to our stay. We had a wonderful time in this part of Tuscany, and I’d happily recommend Ventena Vecchia to anyone looking to spend a few days in the area.

The welcome was warm, and the helpful people there did their best to make us comfortable. The rooms are decorated with lovely artwork and pottery. It’s a good base if you’re interested in Chianti wines and the area around them. Siena and Florence are close enough for day trips. Highly recommended.
