The restaurant was excellent, and the portions were plentiful. We had no complaints about the food. This is an old renovated farmhouse in the Siena hills, with a bar and restaurant attached. The owner and staff were kind and helpful, and the rooms were clean and reasonably comfortable, though basic and furnished in a dated style. Finding the place was tricky. Google Maps sent me somewhere completely different, at least in my case, but we eventually got there. We did find a gecko on the wall, apparently living in the attic. For a countryside farmhouse with a tiled roof, that may not be unusual. It didn’t bother me personally, though my wife is sensitive to that sort of thing and was a little worried. We were only staying one night, so I didn’t think it was necessary to bring it up with the owner.

The food was excellent, and the owners were so friendly and ready to help with anything we needed. It has a family atmosphere that made us feel at ease straight away. I stayed here with friends on Saturday, April 21st, and we had a great time. It’s a charming place for a few days of total relaxation, very close to the Petriolo spa. We’ll definitely come back.

The rooms were welcoming and, above all, clean. This is a pleasant, homely hotel that sticks to the essentials and does them well. It’s a five-minute drive from the Petriolo hot springs and about 40 minutes from Siena. The restaurant’s selection is limited but good, nothing exceptional, though we had no problems at all.

The restaurant could and should be better maintained. I’d expected more from it. The owners, a husband and wife, were very friendly, and this is a simple, welcoming place. The rooms are basic, but we found them clean.
