Nine Hotel

My first trip to Monza is one I won’t forget. The food was divine, and the owners and their family, along with the amazing staff, made us feel so welcome. The staff were exceptional and the owners were lovely and helpful. I’d highly recommend this place to friends and family back home in New Zealand.

The location is fabulous, and there’s a large car park with reasonable prices just a minute away on foot. I’d come back if they fixed the air-conditioning and added a fridge. Otherwise, never. The rooms could have been fine with those things, but it was the middle of an Italian summer, around 31 degrees, and the air-conditioning wasn’t working. The controls even showed an unhealthy atmosphere, as in the picture. There was no fridge either. Leaving the windows open didn’t seem like a safe option because there were no outside rails or shutters, and there was no insect screen. Also, the entrance is beside a kitchen, so you smell fish or other kitchen odors when coming and going.

The accommodation and the best food in town make a great combination. I’d especially recommend the ‘firto misto’ without hesitation. The staff are really friendly, too. Fantastic place, and I’ll be back more often.

The room was spacious, clean, and had a cozy feel, with nice views of the church spires from the levels above the restaurant. Staff were very friendly, and the restaurant was great. Breakfast is basic if you don’t eat meat, though you can ask for something specific, like an omelette. The location is right in the heart of Modena. I’d happily stay again.
