La Bottega Celeste

The homemade sweet and savory pies at breakfast were a real treat, served on the covered upstairs terrace. Mrs. Ave is kind, discreet, and welcoming, and we’re already thinking about coming back. The B&B sits in the peaceful Piacenza hills, in a family home with a roomy ground-floor apartment, two separate bedrooms, a shared space, a kitchen, and a refrigerator. Each room has its own bathroom, too.

The breakfast is over the top, and the owner’s warm welcome stays with you. This quiet, far-off corner of the Arda Valley feels almost like a small old-world place fading into poetry. The view seems to stretch forever, while the silence lifts you up and leaves you in awe. The owner's sparkling eyes seemed to say how grateful they were that we were there.

The house has such a warm feel, with handmade furniture that tells the story of the family and Grandpa Celeste's workshop. We came in early November for my partner's birthday, and Mrs. Ave greeted us with tea and cookies. Her sweet little dogs joined our friendly chat, too. Our room was spotless, nicely decorated, and comfortable, and the spacious bathroom had both a shower and a whirlpool tub. Breakfast was excellent, with sweet and savory choices, homemade cakes, and local products. We’d love to come back in warmer weather and explore more of the area.

Breakfast was generous and thoughtfully put together, with the valley spread out behind us. The building sits in a beautiful spot with a panoramic view, and the welcome was so warm it felt like being with family. The place is relaxing and comfortable, with an inviting blend of ethnic, Arte Povera, and country styles.
