La Mandra

The food, welcome, and accommodation were all lovely. We spent the weekend surrounded by nature, with walks to the Cauto hermitage and Zompo lo Schioppo waterfall. Batuffolo and Max, the two dogs who live there, joined us and our dog on the trails, which was a lovely bonus.

After hiking with friends in the "Zompo lo schioppo" regional reserve in Morino (AQ), we stopped at the farmhouse for lunch. The setting felt special, and the menu was good value, with quality local specialties from the starter through dessert.

Just a stone's throw from the Zompo lo Schioppo nature reserve, this place is surrounded by nature. The food is simple and authentic, like home cooking, assuming you have someone at home who knows their way around a kitchen.

The rooms were comfortable and tastefully furnished, with spectacular views across the reserve. Maria Antonietta personally made delicious lunches and authentic breakfasts, and from the moment we arrived, she, Luca, and Daniela made us feel at home with their warmth and kindness. Set among green mountains and blue skies in the heart of the Zompo lo Schioppo Nature Reserve, the property is a welcoming, peaceful retreat. Thanks to all the staff for making our stay special.
