Country-House Pecora Nera

The pool, looking out over the rolling hills, was such a peaceful place to spend time. We also loved how welcoming it was for children, and Kekko, the sweetest dog in the world, always cheered us up. We stayed for two wonderful weeks at La Pecora Nera Country House in Mosciano, and have already booked another visit for Pentecost 2026. The setting in Abruzzo is beautiful and ideal for relaxing and enjoying the local food. Davide was a warm, friendly host with plenty of useful suggestions for restaurants and trips, and we found some excellent local places thanks to him. The house is thoughtfully furnished. We especially liked the self-catering setup, with a modern shared kitchen, a private fridge for each room, and a pleasant terrace for breakfast, dinner, or just sitting together. It was easy to get chatting with other guests, share meals, and have some nice encounters. There’s also a large barbecue, which we enjoyed using for relaxed evenings.

The place is lovely, the rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the morning cleaning was perfect. Breakfast has plenty to choose from, and it’s all made in-house. Definitely try the blood orange juice, it was phenomenal. The pool is large, with sun loungers and enough space around it for quite a few people. We had a great time and felt right at home. Alessia, the owner, is wonderful, always smiling, telling stories, and happy to give advice. You can see how much of herself she puts into her work. It was our first holiday with Merlino, our seven-month-old dachshund, and we were a bit nervous, but Alessia reassured us about everything. We loved being able to wander around freely with him. Alessia's dogs and cats are also out on the lawn, which we really appreciated. The location makes it easy to get to everything in a few minutes by car. There’s also a partner beach club on the Giulianova seafront that welcomes pets. A relaxing little oasis. We’ll be back soon!

We only managed one night at this country house, and wished we could have stayed longer. The garden, pool area, and dining room are all cared for with real attention, and the whole place feels restful. Our room was charming and comfortable, and breakfast was delicious, clearly homemade. The owner was so friendly and helpful, too. We’ll gladly come back. It’s very dog-friendly, so bringing your furry companions is no problem.

The rooms were clean, the food was good, and breakfast was generous with fresh ingredients. You can eat in the garden under the porch or by the pool in the evening, then spend the day exploring inland or heading to the beach, which is included in the stay price. Alessia, Lorenzo, and all their two-legged and four-legged staff made the place feel friendly and familiar. It’s a great spot for children and dogs, and a good place to let your mind and spirit rest.
