Residence Toblini

Punta Larici is nearby, with its spectacular views over the Gardasee, and Riva del garda is close too. The lake and several good restaurants are just a five-minute walk away. Residence Toblini is a peaceful, dreamy place, with a well-kept garden and outdoor pool as well as an indoor pool. There’s a large inner courtyard where guests can park for free, plus a secured garage for bikes, surfboards and SUPs. Washing and drying machines are available, and detergent is provided. Our apartment was spacious, modern and very clean, just like the pictures. The beds were comfortable, and there are different apartment and studio sizes to choose from. Brothers Claudio & Stefano made us feel welcome and gave us helpful ideas for restaurants and places to visit. They even let us charge our electrical car at their charging station. We’ll definitely return to Residence Toblini and highly recommend it. A fantastic, relaxing stay, 10/10, or even 11/10 if that were possible.

The owners were lovely and shared lots of useful tips, from things to do to where to find what we needed and which restaurants to try. The lake is very close, and you have everything nearby. We’d happily come back, and I’d recommend this place without hesitation.

Finding alternative accommodation late in the evening with our sick baby was incredibly stressful. We had come from Ireland to visit Lake Garda after many family and friends recommended it. On Monday 17th of September, we booked a two-bedroom apartment at Residence Toblini at the last minute, after seeing a doctor with our 7-month-old, who had a fever. We were glad to have a comfortable place to care for the baby, and were happy with the apartment at first. That afternoon, I went to prepare food and found ants all over the kitchen counter, including on the baby’s bottles and feeding equipment. Ants or insects on a floor or balcony wouldn’t have bothered us, given the Mediterranean setting and our past experience, but finding them in the kitchen was unacceptable, especially with a sick baby. I reported it at reception. I was told that the manager and owner, Stefano, was at a funeral and would be back at 6pm. We went to the pharmacy for medicine, and when we returned, Stefano met us on the hotel steps, angry and abrupt. As I tried to explain, he shouted that we should leave immediately because we’d only cause more problems if we stayed. We had no other issues. He offered no solution, and we were shocked and upset by his aggressive response. I asked if another apartment was available, since it was late and we had a sick baby. He said there were none, although the website showed availability. He was rude and derogatory, laughed at us while I was visibly upset and the baby was crying and unsettled. Another man escorted us back to the apartment and stood over us while we packed our bags. That was upsetting and stressful. He seemed surprised I was complaining about ants in the kitchen, as he thought the issue was on our balcony. We’d never experienced anything like this. After making what I consider a valid complaint, we were put out on the street like dogs, late in the evening, with a sick baby, and left to find somewhere else to stay. Stefano’s unsympathetic and unprofessional treatment left us so traumatised that we contacted the Italian embassy in Ireland and the Lake Garda Tourism Board.

I stayed at Casa Marco, next to Toblini, in summer 2023. There were a few parking spaces for Casa Marco, but the owner of Toblini blocked some of them and kept them for family members. As a guest, I found that behavior unacceptable.
