Antica Napoli Cristo Velato

The location right in the heart of Spacca Napoli is excellent, and the lady was kind. But beyond the large room, I really wouldn't recommend this place. We had the room with the internal staircase and bathroom upstairs, and it didn't have a bidet, which is unthinkable for us Italians. The building is charmingly dilapidated, but getting up three floors is a lot if you don't like stairs.

The apartment was clean and reasonably well equipped. It could use some hooks in the bathrooms and holders for soap and shampoo in the showers. Getting there means tackling stairs that feel straight out of a 1950s Italian film, so you'll need strong calves and a healthy heart. Twenty kilos of luggage makes for quite a cardio workout!

Mrs. Pina is really kind, and her B&B has modern rooms right in the historic center, so you get a feel for everyday life in Naples. She has the rooms cleaned every morning at 11:00 a.m. and leaves a breakfast note on the noticeboard. A breakfast bar is only a few steps from her house. The Wi-Fi drops out quite often, which is probably the one small drawback, but we were barely home anyway. Highly recommend it!

The owner and her son were helpful and kind with everything we asked for. The location is handy for all the main attractions, and we had a wonderful recent stay. The one possible drawback, just my opinion, is that there's no elevator to the rooms, though that's something you can work around. I'd highly recommend this place.
