Breakfast at the café downstairs was a real treat, with pastries that were excellent. The woman who runs the place was kind and friendly, and welcomed us with homemade cake. The rooms are comfortable and a decent size. The B&B sits on San Gregorio Armeno, right among the markets in the heart of Naples. That makes it very handy for seeing the main sights, especially on a first visit. There’s a downside to being so central, though: the nightlife noise carries into the rooms at night, even with the double-glazed windows, so light sleepers may struggle. We also had to switch rooms after two days because ours was needed for a larger family. The management feels quite informal. It was a good stay overall, and the central location may be worth those compromises. Anyone after a more modern, traditionally run place might want to look elsewhere, though that would mean giving up the benefits of staying in the center.

The rooms were spotless and comfortable, and the soundproof windows helped. Staying with Ersilia in the heart of Spaccanapoli made it easy to explore the historic center on foot, with public transport close by for going farther afield. The owner is friendly and courteous, and knows her beautiful Naples very well. She gave us good advice on what to see. There are plenty of restaurants a short walk away, and nearby public transport makes getting around easy. The B&B is in the historic center, with straightforward access from Naples Central Station and a metro station about ten minutes away.

We spent four days at Ersilia’s B&B over the Easter weekend (April 25th). She was attentive, kind, and ready to help with every request. She also treated us to delicious homemade pastiera. The room and bathroom were comfortable and always clean. The location is right in the heart of the city, handy for visiting the main sights of magnificent Naples. Mrs. Ersilia’s breakfast alone makes the stay worthwhile, with traditional Neapolitan pastries like delicious sfogliatelle. The B&B is on Via dei Presepi (Via San Gregorio Armeno, corner of Via San Biagio del Librai), in the heart of Spaccanapoli. The rooms are very clean and each has its own bathroom. It’s in a large historic building, like the others around there, and the place could use some renovation. The price is about average.
