B&B Metropolitan

Francesco was honestly the best staff member I’ve met anywhere, and the place itself was clean and quiet. The bathroom was very clean too, and the air conditioning worked great. I loved staying there for four days. Finding it took us 20 minutes because it’s tucked away in what looked like an apartment, and the area smelled of piss. There were lots of homeless people and people fighting with beer bottles and screaming nearby. I know the hotel and staff can’t control who’s around, but it’s sad to have such a great place affected by that. The central train station is in view, the bus station and terminal are close, and one of the best pizzerias is within reach. Francesco is the best :)

The rooms looked good and were clean for a B&B, but it was noisy inside with the central station across the way. The hot water wasn’t consistently hot. I think there’s a boiler, and sometimes I was left without hot water. The area felt like other station areas, with some weird people around, but not especially dangerous.

The view at sunrise over Vesuvius was amazing. Check-in was easy, reception was staffed during the day, and the staff seemed friendly. The room was okay and fairly clean, though it needed some maintenance. The shower door was broken, so water ran out of the bathroom into the room. It’s convenient if you need an early train or bus, but the area felt run-down, with lots of homeless people. The smell in the square and outside was unbearable because the doorway was being used as a bathroom.

The location is excellent, right by the train station, close to lots of good places to eat, and just a short walk or jog from the water. Outside can look a bit sketchy at night, but the rooms themselves were nice, clean, and comfortable.
