The beds were comfortable and the staff friendly, but the building felt like a construction site. There was a lot of mold in the bathroom, and the shower head was broken. The electronic door lock is a neat idea, though there’s no cell reception in the building, so we had to go back downstairs and outside to unlock it with the app. The decor was cool.

Inside, the place was better than it looked from outside, and I hope they improve the entrance. The room had Netflix, AC, and fast Wi-Fi, which made it nice to relax in. The breakfast area was large and beautifully decorated. But the entrance was shocking, an actual dormant construction site that looked unsafe. Our room, Spaccanapoli, had a shower space barely bigger than a shower mat, and the balcony couldn’t be used because work was ongoing. Traffic and other noise made the room loud early in the morning. We saw a young man checking in who looked shocked and confused as he took photos, just as we had an hour earlier. He said he’d never seen anything like it. The next day, an older couple were also taking photos of the downstairs area, and we later learned they were guests too. I can’t say I had a good experience, and I wouldn’t recommend it.

We stayed for two nights, but I wouldn’t come back. Our taxi driver told us where to go, but we didn’t follow the directions because the building looked abandoned and under construction. We couldn’t find the place and didn’t speak Italian, though someone eventually helped us on the street. My international service didn’t connect when I first arrived. The apartments’ entrance was on the second floor, and you need Wi-Fi or internet to unlock the door, which was a pain. We went to breakfast at 9:30, and most of the food was already gone. Coffee and cereal were still available.

We’ll definitely come back, and I’ve already recommended the place. It’s lovely, nicely decorated, comfortable, and in a great spot, with excellent service too. Breakfast could use a little more variety, maybe some fresh fruit like apples or bananas and boiled eggs.
