B&B Smeraldo

Street noise kept us from sleeping. The rooms were small, old, and smelled of cigarettes, and the building itself was dirty. It was cold and damp inside, to the point that we didn't want to get in the shower. The air conditioning was loud and leaked water, and the bathroom and shower were in very bad shape, leaking on every side.

For this part of town and this price, it's hard to find a better room, even though ours was small and the bed a little uncomfortable. The hotel felt like an oasis in a dicey area near the station. Everyone was very friendly, and the room was incredibly clean. They left snacks and candy and refilled them each day during room service, plus gave us breakfast tickets for a nearby cafe.

The room reeked of cigarettes, and the toilet was clogged. There was no staff around to report either problem to. I wouldn't recommend this hotel. It deserves zero stars.

The hostess was kind and helpful, and the rooms were large and clean. There was even a wall-mounted safe box, which I hadn't expected for this grade of Suite. It's close to the train station, bus station, and Metro, and the stay went beyond my expectations.
