I've stayed at this bed and breakfast a few times, but after this visit I won't be back. The standards and quality have dropped a lot. I was charged €60 per night, even though the price on Booking.com and other sites was €44 at the time. I foolishly hadn't checked beforehand. The room was in terrible shape, almost as if it had been abandoned. It wasn't properly clean: there was hair on the sheets and floor, papers from previous guests in the drawers, dirty chairs and walls, and a run-down bathroom. The washing machine had mold and putrid water in it. After I pointed that out, it was emptied and run through an empty cycle, but the mold remained. There was also mold in the shower and the blanket was dirty. The bigger issue was the lack of responsibility from the owner, especially, and the person who was meant to clean. The cleaner blamed the room's state on previous guests having stayed a long time, as if that made not cleaning acceptable. She also claimed the marks in the washer were black laundry dye, not mold, and seemed to be mocking me. The owner apologized, but said he didn't think her comments mattered anyway, which made the apology feel meaningless and offered no fix. He said, “It happens to everyone, maybe the cleaning lady forgot something or was having a bad day.” We couldn't find the Wi-Fi password anywhere, and the password card was missing too. We only got it the next day after asking. The only blanket was stained with yellow liquid, so we were cold, and I even wondered if it was a mattress protector. The TV didn't work either. The owner says the price is rock-bottom for what I booked. But if that's the case, why not charge more and look after the property properly? At least then it might be worth it. Money wasted, but at least it won't happen again :)

It's on Naples' magnificent waterfront, which is a prime location. The room itself was a letdown, with very basic furnishings, an unwelcoming feel, and some maintenance issues. Also, it's on the second floor and there's no elevator, something to consider if you have luggage or mobility issues.
