Demi Rooms

The room was so filthy that we left within hours of arriving. Opening the door, we were met by a mouldy smell, which was even stronger in the bathroom, where thick mould covered the shower. The bedding and curtains had obvious dirt and stains, and there was blood on the walls. Nobody was there to check us in or out, and we had no contact with staff throughout the whole ordeal. I wouldn’t book this hotel if cleanliness or a comfortable stay matters to you.

The room smelled so strongly of mould that we had to air it out during the day to sleep at night. There were stains on the walls, a mouldy shower hose and shower door area, a stained toilet, dirty bed cover and curtains, and a chipped bed frame. A roof leak also flooded the main lobby and knocked out the power. The whole thing was chaotic, and other reviews suggest we weren’t the only guests to run into these problems.

The rooms themselves are spacious, modern, and very nice, but the stay had a few problems. We arrived to find no staff member for check-in; the woman we later met at breakfast was pleasant. Breakfast was the most basic we had in Italy, with a soft croissant, a chocolate dessert, drinks, and cereal. Getting up to the property meant hauling suitcases up what I think were three flights of very rickety stairs, while construction started around 7:45 in the morning. The location felt a little sketchy, which was a strange contrast with the lovely room. There was no hand soap or toilet paper, so we had to go looking for them.

I couldn’t stay the night. The room wasn’t clean, and the bathroom’s condition, along with the mould smell as soon as you walked in, made it impossible. I’d give zero stars if I could.
