The building is one of the prettiest places to stay, right on Spaccanapoli. Via Toledo’s shops and the Dante L1 metro stop are both a short walk away. Our room was spacious and clean, and the daily cleaning was excellent. From the balcony we could look along Spaccanapoli toward Castel Sant'Elmo on the hill. The staff were friendly and helpful with getting around. They provided a free map, recommendations for food and attractions, and an airport shuttle that arrived exactly on time. The windows were so well soundproofed that closing them made the city noise disappear. We had no problems and loved our stay. We’d recommend Dimora Doria d'Angri to anyone.

The palazzo is a stunning historic building, and I really enjoyed breakfast at the coffee shop across the street. There was a good range of breakfast breads and delicious espresso drinks. I stayed one night, and the location was ideal for exploring Centro Storico and the Spanish quarter, with the Dante metro stop very close by.

“DUSTY OLD PALAZZO IN BAD AREA” They shouldn’t advertise parking because they don’t have it. A grumpy man downstairs greeted us by saying we couldn’t park there. He spoke little English, and we were left confused about what to do. Then someone came out of the lift and said we could use a garage 200 yards away, up a back alley, for 25 euros a day. My husband was escorted there. After we got home, we received two parking tickets just for checking in at the palazzo. The place is a dirty, dusty old palazzo, with builders downstairs working on a burnt-out building. The public banisters were filthy from the plastering. We were on the third floor, away from the work, but were told to use the stairs because the lift was so slow. There was almost nothing in the room: no drawers, just an open shelf unit and two hangers. The decor was very old-fashioned. There was no iron, no tea or coffee setup, and nowhere to put a toothbrush except on the sink. Cleaning was inadequate. We got a change of large towels only once in five days, while tiny towels were left each day that I couldn’t see the use for. The tiny soap from day one was never replaced. We had only tiny shampoo bottles and no shower gel. The day before leaving, they didn’t leave more toilet paper, so half a roll had to last through the rest of that day and the next morning. We were told breakfast would be served on the rooftop, but nobody said it cost extra. A note came through the door the next day. Breakfast was all sugary pastries and a cardboard-like cheese and ham toastie. I’m on a sugar-free diet, and when we asked for an alternative, we were told there wasn’t one. The roof terrace was dirty and had no atmosphere. We saw only one other couple during our whole stay.

Fernand, who runs the place, is a really nice guy and gave us helpful ideas for sights and places to eat. The building is lovely, full of history, and sits right in the heart of the old city, which I can’t recommend enough. People actually live there, so it doesn’t feel like it’s just for tourists.

The room was super clean, and the roof terrace was beautiful. The host was perfect and the location is right in the center. I’d come back anytime. Book this one instead of the d Doria Angri, you’ll get help with everything here!
