Essential Suite B&B Botanic

Nightmare. We were moved to this place by the owner of a central B&B just two days before arriving. The staircase looks straight out of a horror film, and the room was dirty and rundown. Once inside, it only got worse: the bed's headboard was badly peeling, the air conditioner didn't work and its remote had dead batteries, and the toilet and shower had brown limescale buildup. We're not used to this kind of decay. Calling it very bad would be a compliment.

This place is centrally located. We had a misunderstanding about breakfast because the agency and property hadn't communicated properly, but the contact person was helpful and courteous in sorting it out. We stayed in the LOVE room. It's not especially spacious, but it was comfortable.

The location was well connected by bus and metro and still close enough to the city center, so I have no complaint there. Our room, the Fashion Room, was another matter. The mattress sagged badly, and there was a thick white duvet despite the 35-degree heat in the shade. The air conditioning was completely out of order. We reported the problems, but nobody fixed them or offered another solution. We loved Naples and will return, just not to this B&B.

The owners were very kind, and the cleanliness was impeccable. After a tiring day walking around Naples, the hot tub was a godsend. I stayed in the suite, which felt romantic but also worked well for a solo traveler. The room and the simple, pretty bathroom both had balcony doors. The entrance and staircase are old and worn, though everything inside the B&B is new and ultra-modern. Breakfast was served at a bar a few steps away; we paid a tiny bit extra and sat at the kiosk in the square. The staff there were very friendly, and honestly I found people kind and smiling everywhere. It was a fantastic stay, and I'll choose it again when I return to wonderful Naples.
