Vittorio Veneto

The room itself was spacious and had a balcony, but the second-floor landing smelled so bad it was hard to breathe. There was no elevator, and the surroundings looked very dirty. On my whole trip through Italy, this was the only hotel location that made me feel a bit unsafe. I didn't take any photos.

A great last-minute find for a trip focused on exploring Naples. The rooms aren't especially luxurious, but they have what you need, and there are lots of cafés and restaurants nearby. I also felt safe here. The receptionist was incredibly kind, helpful, and understanding.

The neighborhood was noisy throughout the day, with people shouting well into the night, and it didn't seem especially safe, so take care. It isn't in central Naples, though it's close to the metro and train station. We stayed five nights, and for the price it was okay. The staff spoke English and were friendly and polite. Our furniture was old, but we had a double bed and a private bathroom with hot water whenever we needed it.

We paid 74 euros for two nights, which was a good price. The room was fine, with a large bed and our own bathroom, though there were lots of stairs. Being near the train station was handy since we were visiting Pompeii.
