The welcome was pleasant, but that was the only good part of the stay. When I tried to pay with my American Express, the payment system required a four-digit PIN, which Amex cards don't use. They refused the card, and I lost $200 in Amex Hotel Travel Credits. The room looked spacious and comfortable at first. The front desk clerk turned on the AC, showed me how to keep it running, and left. Within minutes, my wife and I noticed a foul, backed-up-sewer smell from the bathroom. I reported it immediately and was told someone would look into it, but nothing was done. The staff were good and the cleaning lady was great, but whoever runs this place should be ashamed. After a long day out, we returned to an unbearably hot room. The AC had shut off, and no one was available to help, not even a night manager. We tried the windows, but they had no screens. We opened the bathroom window to air out the smell and let in mosquitoes. So the room was hot and smelly, with bugs as well. I complained again the next morning and was assured it would be handled. They opened the main window, letting in more mosquitoes. After two sleepless nights, we checked out exhausted and irritated, feeling completely ripped off. For $500+, this place is a joke. Management doesn't care, the rooms are poorly maintained, and customer service is nonexistent. Avoid Room 106, or better yet, the whole hotel. Worst stay of our entire trip.
