ibis Styles Napoli Garibaldi

The worst part for us was the neighborhood. The metro, train, and bus station are only about 300 meters away, but the streets felt very shady, with homeless immigrants and drug users around. Locals also told us muggings and theft happen there quite often, so I wouldn't recommend it to families, especially with luggage. The rooms were fine, though there was no kettle or coffee. The red-haired woman at reception came across as very unfriendly and gave us a lot of attitude. Breakfast was very poor quality too. ❌❌❌

The air conditioning didn't work, there was no fridge, and the bed was rock hard. I can manage a firm bed, but you may not like it. More seriously, we booked a night with early check-in and late checkout as selectable options, and they didn't honor the confirmed late checkout. Staff ordered us out rudely, and showing the booking confirmation made no difference. They said it was THEIR option to use as they wished, which made no sense. They could have told us at check-in, but didn't, and the whole thing ruined our day. In my opinion, there are better choices than this grotty hotel behind the train station. It doesn't honor confirmed bookings, seems to blame guests for poor staff performance, and appears to rely on one-off tourist churn.

The staff were lovely, and check-in and check-out were quick and easy. We stayed over New Year's Eve and could barely hear anything outside. It's a really nice hotel in a mid neighborhood, very close to the train station.

Getting around was easy from here, with Napoli Central Train station just a few minutes away and both Metro lines close by for exploring the city. Our room was clean and had enough space, and breakfast offered a good range of options. Check-in and check-out were smooth and quick.
