La Fontanina Suites

The location was good and the service was great. We especially appreciated the morning chats and how thoughtfully they looked after us when we had an early start. I just wish there had been a bit more variety at breakfast.

We had a great stay at this very nice hotel. It’s newly renovated, clean, and nicely decorated, and the staff were super friendly with lots of useful advice and tips. Breakfast was the one area that could be better: it was very basic, with toast, cold cuts, packaged pastries, and no fruit, yogurt, or cereal. A better spread could put it ahead of other hotels in the city. Still, it was a great place to stay, and I’d definitely return.

The hotel feels like a guesthouse inside an apartment building. It was clean and modern, with great AC, a powerful shower, and everything we needed for a city break. Staff were very friendly, and we felt safe in the area. The location was brilliant, just a few minutes on foot from the historic quarter and around 10/15 minutes from the Spanish Quarter. Getting the ferry to Capri was easy. There are excellent restaurants nearby, and I highly recommend Taverna Dell’Arte for dinner and Mennella for gelato just down the street. We had a really enjoyable two-night stay. One snag, though it wasn’t really the hotel’s fault: they called us a taxi to Garibaldi station, about a 10-minute drive, and the driver charged us 20 euros without using the meter. Don’t assume your driver will be any different from the rest in the city. And watch your head at the door, it’s low and I banged mine on it :-)

Maria made breakfast feel special. Our room was spacious and spotless, and we'd happily stay there again. Napoli itself put us off returning, though: it was too dirty and covered in ugly graffiti.
