La Lepre Napoli

Our host was warm and helpful, meeting us in person despite our late arrival, leaving a light snack, and sharing tips on places to visit. The apartment itself was clean, tidy, and in good shape. The building's exterior felt a little intimidating, and the neighborhood wasn't especially cozy, though there were some excellent restaurants close by and the city center was walkable. We stayed for 3 nights.

We left on the day we checked in, so we ended up paying for a stay we never used. The owner also refused my request for even a 50% refund. The hotel's condition, the building, and its maintenance were below a basic standard and nowhere near what its online rating above 9 suggested. We found it a complete disappointment and poor value. The owner insisted the location was safe, but it didn't feel safe to us. It was a terrible experience with this property and its rating.

The rooms at La Lepre Napoli were spacious, spotless, and nicely decorated, and we could set the A/C ourselves, which is rare. My girlfriend and I stayed 3 nights. We were welcomed with an aperitivo and a greeting, then given a city map and directions to popular spots and local restaurants. The hospitality really stood out. Breakfast was lovely each morning, with eggs and bacon cooked on request. When I asked for a banana one morning, our host went straight to the store next door and came back with 3. That says a lot about the service. We enjoyed our stay.

The staff made a short stay feel special. Our train was delayed, so we arrived after check-in hours, but they still got us settled for the night. The next morning we had trouble arranging an airport taxi, and they booked one for us in the early hours. They'd also left delicious baked goods when we arrived. The hotel itself is beautiful, with modern, clean rooms. I'd give it 7 stars if I could, and it's a must-stay when visiting Naples.
