MH Design Hotel

I booked a modern, clean hotel and instead got a room at a different address, six blocks away, in a dirty building on a hill. The room and the whole building smelled of mold, with mold on the walls and tiles. Sheets and couch were stained, and the floor was so dusty my foot turned black as soon as I stepped on it. If you're one of the unlucky people they put in a room at another address, you have no choice but to find somewhere else. I booked the Chiaja the same day, and it was superb compared with this scam MH design hotel. They refused to refund me after we complained. Shame on booking.com for working with a place like this.

The location made it easy to get around the city, and the staff were friendly. My room at **MH Design Hotel** was spacious, clean, and nicely put together, with a really comfortable bed and good amenities. The style felt modern and cozy. I loved staying here and would come back. Highly recommend!

The location was the only real plus. I was there for two nights on a work trip. My first room was outside the main hotel building, and getting breakfast meant going out onto the street and into a building down the road. It had broken furniture and very dim lighting, plus a bathroom noise that kicked in every minute for a few seconds all night. Earplugs and white noise didn't help; I didn't sleep at all. Reception was very unhelpful when I called twice. They moved me to the main building for the second night. That room felt much nicer and had no noise, though the window looked onto a tiny courtyard, with no balcony or decent view. Breakfast was okay, but I had to put cereal in a glass because there weren't proper bowls. Two days after leaving, I realized I'd forgotten a shirt. I called the hotel three times, and they were no help. It seemed the receptionists weren't in touch with the cleaning staff. I really wouldn't recommend this place unless you're out of options.

Update: the owner finally replied four months later. I thought my review was honest, especially since I'd called the front desk amazing, but that response made the service seem atrocious. This is the worst hotel in all of Italy. Find somewhere as far away as you can. When we stayed, the location was excellent, with Gran Caffe Gambrinus down the road, and the front desk staff were great to deal with. We were put in a separate building up the road from check-in. The room was tiny, dated, and the shower leaked enough to flood the bathroom after every use. It was cleaned decently each day, which made it bearable. Fine for the location, but not a great hotel.
