The apartment wasn’t at the address shown on Booking. We checked in at number 4 instead of number 10, and the apartment faced a dumpster. When I offered to pay the city tax by card, the staff member told me to run to a bank for cash because he couldn’t wait, even though we arrived at 12:00, within the stated check-in window of 12:00 to 15:00. Then the manager rejected my ID issued by the Italian authorities and threatened to cancel the booking without a refund. We were greeted with a list of rules and fines instead of hospitality. I also found three dried-up buns in the microwave, despite the property charging €20 for cleaning. At checkout they asked for a second set of keys, but my family had only been given one. As soon as we left, a man called demanding €12 compensation for a broken coffee maker, which was already broken when we checked in. The managers treated us extremely rudely and seemed not to understand that they work in hospitality.

Please take our stay as a warning. We booked through Airbnb, and right at check-in the host charged us €30, saying it was tourist tax. We later learned that this is paid when booking. We paid through Airbnb and did get a refund, but only after the host gave us several different explanations. First there was a supposed €50 cleaning charge, with photos we believe were fake and beds they had messed up, then the reason changed to heating, which they control. We took several pictures before leaving, thankfully. The apartment was extremely dirty and lacked items shown in the listing, including an oven, TV, AC, and console. The photos didn’t match the actual place. The host kept contacting us at night and early in the morning, and sent intimidating messages if we didn’t respond the way they wanted. We felt very unsafe. We think the rating is inflated by fake reviews they made up, so have a look for yourself. We posted a review on Airbnb, but the host kept getting it removed. I imagine they do the same with most negative reviews. Please be aware.
