Molo 33 Napoli

We found the apartment very clean when we arrived, and although it’s a bit worn, that didn’t bother us. The hosts were lovely, friendly, and full of city tips. We sorted things out easily on WhatsApp before arrival, and they spoke excellent English. From my bed I could see a beautiful hill with a castle. The apartment has three rooms, but only two have windows and air conditioning. On warm days, setting the air conditioning in those rooms low helps cool the shared room, which has a table, chairs, TV, and kitchen. There are coffee pots but no kettle. The kitchen only has a big bread knife, so a proper knife for cheese or vegetables would be useful. We managed, though. There are wine openers and very cute, colourful wine glasses. WiFi is available. Each room has a wardrobe or clothes rack, and there’s a washing machine, which would be useful to mention on booking.com. The bathroom has a shower, with a separate toilet. Bed linen and towels were provided. The bed was comfortable, and I’d recommend staying here.

Nice location and the room was okay. The small room has no window or air conditioning, so you have to leave the door open for privacy to be an issue, or shut it and sleep in the heat.

The staff at Molo 33 know their dishes and are attentive without hovering. They can suggest wine pairings and explain what’s on the plate. The wine list is interesting, especially the whites and sparkling options for fish. The food feels modern but stays close to Mediterranean tradition, with attractive, understated presentation. Seafood is the highlight: the fish is very fresh and carefully chosen. Crudités, tartare, and carpaccio let its flavor come through, while the seafood first courses are balanced. The grilled dishes and catch of the day were cooked gently and precisely. The room has an elegant, welcoming feel, with modern styling, natural materials, and marine colours. It would suit a romantic dinner or special occasion. If you want a high-quality seafood restaurant, Molo 33 is worth considering.

It’s not far from the centre, and the rooms are roomy enough, but I found the apartment too small for four people. Only two bedrooms have windows. Furnishings are basically hangers or a closet. There are two bathrooms right next to each other, divided by a tiny wall, and one has no shower. The kitchen has very few utensils, not even a knife. One night I ordered pizza and had to eat it with my hands! The harbor noise woke me early in the bedroom I used. I had a marathon the next day and slept badly, so I gave two stars rather than three. There’s only one set of keys for four people, which isn’t convenient if we keep different schedules. When you leave, you must leave the keys inside. I forgot something and remembered a minute later, but couldn’t get back in. An external code locker would help, but this place doesn’t have one.
