Palazzo Caracciolo Naples

The front desk team were wonderful and very accommodating. They stored our bags after checkout while we spent the day seeing the city, and letting us leave our rental car there made everything easy. A great place to stay in Naples, with a fantastic location.

As Hilton Diamond Members, we got an upgrade to a gorgeous two-story duplex, with huge windows and a loft bedroom. That made our stay unforgettable. Palazzo Caracciolo Naples was one of our favorite places in Italy. The location was ideal for walking to the train station, L'Antica Pizzeria da Michele, and several tour meeting spots. I'm vegetarian and was really impressed by breakfast. It felt like a treat but also gave me practical fuel for a full day out. The sourdough bread and their distinctive red bean recipe were both delicious.

Centro Storico was a very convenient location, and check-in and checkout went smoothly. The room was fine, but too warm. We were told the hotel sets one temperature for everyone. Since it was November, I assume they'd already switched to heat. The only way to cool our room was to leave the window open, and it was noisy. Breakfast service was disappointing. We were discouraged from sitting in the courtyard because they said no tables were clean and ready, even though only one was occupied. Inside, the tables also needed clearing, and we had to set our own. It was just 9:30 a.m., not the end of breakfast. The worst part was waiting 45 minutes for the car valet while we were heading to the airport. At 20 minutes, we were told there'd been a garage problem, it was sorted, and the car was on its way. At 30 minutes, they said it would be another two minutes and the car was coming. At 40 minutes, the attendant asked for our room number, got our key from the cabinet, and went to fetch it. The wait was stressful enough, but I was shocked that staff had twice told us the car was en route when it wasn't. The attendant said he was alone and had to handle the cars people kept bringing in, but managing that service is the hotel's responsibility. There were four people at the front desk, and perhaps someone could have helped outside. Being lied to like that showed a complete lack of respect, and I'm still taken aback by it.

The hotel was clean, and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, but I left a little disappointed. I'm a long-time Hilton member and team member. The courtyard events were the main problem: music blasted until 11 p.m. and echoed through the rooms so badly that it felt like we were down there partying. We couldn't sleep. I understand there's plenty of nightlife here, but nothing on the website warned us about these events. Had we known, we wouldn't have stayed. It's hard to enjoy a trip when you're running on no sleep every day. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone with long days who needs a good night's rest.
