Palazzo Mele Residence

We had a wonderful stay, and the owners were friendly and helpful. The rooms are lovely, spacious, and well equipped, in this sea-view residence in Mergellina. It’s close to the funicular and the Mergellina stop on L2. There are plenty of parking spaces below the building, plus garages if you want one. Nearby chalets are handy for breakfast, a snack, or an aperitif overlooking the sea. We’d be glad to come back. Recommended!

I travel all the time, so I know what I’m talking about: this place gets barely one star from me. They said breakfast was included when I booked, but that wasn’t true, and there isn’t even a breakfast area. There was no cleaning, bed-making, or towel change during our four days. I had to buy clean towels myself. For the price, having no amenities at all is unacceptable. I’m including a photo of the room’s trash can. I’m removing this residence from my contacts and won’t recommend it to friends or colleagues. I do not recommend it.

Giovanella was very helpful and gave us all sorts of suggestions for places to eat and visit. We stayed here four days and were very satisfied. The room was large and clean, with a roomy bathroom and an exterior aspect. The area felt quiet and was well connected. The views were spectacular, with the sun rising behind Vesuvius in the morning and the Bay of Naples and a marina in front of us by day and at night. Thank you.

From the window there’s the sea and a garden full of lush plants. This is Mergellina, and that says it all. The old building has been turned into small apartments in a stylish, practical way, while keeping the hallways, vaulted doors, wooden floors, and Mele tailoring posters.
