The location was chaotic, dirty, very busy, and noisy. The room felt cold, both in how it looked and in temperature, and it was underwhelming. The stove in the shared area didn’t work, even though that was one of the main reasons we booked. There was a crack in the wall, and no coffee in the common area when we arrived. All the communication was by WhatsApp text. Within ten minutes of arriving, we raised our concerns and asked for a refund. We were told that choosing a refundable booking option was important, though that option hadn’t been very clear or even known to us. We asked to talk face to face about the problems, but that was refused. We tried to resolve things over text with “the big boss man,” but got nowhere. I told him he could make this right by issuing a refund, and I’d give him a good review for fixing a bad situation. I also said that if he didn’t, I’d tell other potential guests what happened. In the end, we gave up trying to find common ground and looked for another place. The room was cold, so later we asked for a blanket. We had to explain to “the big boss man” why we needed one. He sent the cleaning girl, who was sweet and helpful and communicated using Google Translate, but repeated the same reasoning we’d already heard in the texts from the boss. I guess we learned our lesson. I’m sure they’ll lose future business from our travel agent, and hopefully from you too. It was a horrible situation, with horrible accommodations, false advertising, and horrible customer service. We got no refund. I’d give a negative rating if I could. Save yourself a major headache and get out of there. We couldn’t leave fast enough. The best part was leaving and getting our “complimentary” breakfast next door. If you need somewhere to stay, try the little town of Pozzuoli. It was the complete opposite experience and saved our vacation.

The room was clean and looked updated, and the bathroom was acceptably clean with fresh towels. There was some mold inside the shower door, though, and the shower space was about as small as one in a cruise ship cabin. The soap dispenser didn’t work properly. On the first day we could switch from the handheld shower to the rain shower, but it got stuck on that setting for the rest of our stay. This is more like an Airbnb than a hotel. There’s no lobby or staff on hand to help. Check-in is handled over WhatsApp, with instructions for getting into the building sent at arrival. The rooms are on the fourth floor of an old apartment building in a busy neighborhood. There’s a shared kitchen with a microwave, refrigerator, and a stove that didn’t work. Some utensils were available, but not many. It was noisy day and night. We could hear the neighborhood all day, construction started at 8 am, and the small refrigerator made enough noise that we had to turn it off. We felt safe enough during the day, but walking around the area at night didn’t feel safe. Watch out for motorcycles zipping through the streets and overtaking cars. It was our first time in Naples, so we didn’t know what to expect and should’ve read the details more carefully before booking. The photos, reviews, and name set a better impression than our actual stay. We couldn’t change the reservation once we arrived in Naples because the cancellation deadline had been two weeks before our stay. They’ve clearly done a good job marketing it. At checkout, they ask you to give a rating of 10. For a similar price, we could’ve stayed at another known hotel with better accommodation. This place came up at the top of Hotels.com’s search because of its high ratings.

Booking at short notice was easy and hassle-free. The rooms were clean, and the facilities were good for the price. Finding the place took a bit more effort, though. Look to the right of the Wall Street shop and you’ll spot the entrance.

Check-in and check-out were seamless, and breakfast was included at the cafe downstairs. The location is great, and the rooms were very clean compared with the rest of Naples. One night we heard some noise, but a WhatsApp message to the hotel got it sorted.

It was easy to find, between the airport and the station, with a €10 taxi ride from either one. Check-in and check-out are contactless, and the instructions were clear once I realized everything could be handled through WhatsApp. Hotels.com’s messaging service redacts contact details, which wasn’t helpful. The room was spotless and well equipped, and there’s a kitchen next door. Even though it’s on a busy street, noise wasn’t a problem. Breakfast comes from the bakery opposite. That was the one letdown for me: I need a low-carb diet for health reasons, and the options were cake or doughnuts. Still, that’s not the hotel’s fault. Five stars all around, and we’re staying here again on our way home, which says a lot.
