Royal Continental Hotel Naples

Vincenzo at the front desk came through for us more than once. When the Cameo Factory was closed because of a strike, he arranged a black car service, and we liked it so much that we hired the driver for several hours. Later, he pointed us to Trattoria Casabuonocore around the corner. It's a tiny local place, and the meatballs were the best we've ever had. The hotel bar was wonderful too. We only stayed one night, but the room was ready by about 0830 even though we'd arrived from Amalfi at 0745 and were told to expect it around noon. The room was fine, with a terrace over the water. Breakfast the next morning was lovely, and then we went sightseeing. The front desk staff were terrific, especially given that getting us in so early wasn't something we could count on.

The lobby is lovely, and the service made for a really nice stay. From the magnificent view, you can enjoy the sea air in Naples and watch people running along the beach or kayaking. If you're there into the evening, head up to the rooftop.

There was room for everyone to relax in the clean, spacious family suite, and the place felt warm and safe. We stayed with our two kids and were very happy with it. The hotel had a play area, a children's menu at the restaurant, and board games at the front desk. It suited a family with young children really well.

Breakfast at the hotel was good. Nearby parking was available, but the cost was as high as NYC. I think hotels like this and their service are a shame for a city like Naples, though maybe this is what it deserves. The mentality in Naples still seems to be about screwing the tourist.
