We ended up getting Agoda to ask for the room money back, but the trip was largely wasted. We had bought two Trenitalia tickets for the outbound trip, two for the return, and four bus tickets. Since we couldn’t stay in Naples after all, we had to buy two more Trenitalia tickets to return because our advance tickets had the wrong date. Cotral wasn’t running on Saturday, November 1st, so we had to take a taxi from Monte San Biagio to Terracina. Who will cover those costs, or the vacation we lost on the only days we had free? I had booked a room for my girlfriend and me for November 1, 2025, a week ahead, using Agoda. They took the money right away, gave me a booking number, and emailed a confirmation. After that, I heard nothing, and the money wasn’t refunded before our arrival. When we got to check in, there was nothing on the intercom, and the building entrance was awful, moldy, dark, with iron bars everywhere. I called the number for the guy in charge. He said they were fully booked, there must have been a platform problem, and those booking platforms weren’t reliable. If he doesn’t trust them, why use them? And when a problem leaves us without a place to stay, he should compensate us without hesitation. If platforms take more money than they should, the room managers get that money, while the platforms only take a percentage. But this man wouldn’t even refund our room. My girlfriend and I were standing downstairs at the intercom, and he didn’t bother to come out.

We were meant to stay here on Saturday, November 1st, but when we arrived to check in, they said there were no rooms, even though they’d taken our money and sent a confirmation. The location made getting to the train station, major transport, and the city centre easy. It was quiet during our stay, with no noise problems, and the owner was genuinely kind and helpful. The apartment itself was clean, well cared for, and tastefully furnished, though the building entrance and staircase gave a poor first impression. Not every detail was top-notch, but the place was comfortable and perfectly acceptable overall. We had a great time and would recommend it to people visiting Naples.
