The balcony view and location are the best parts. The Wi-Fi kept cutting out every few minutes, and getting up five flights of stairs was a workout. There is an elevator, but each ride costs 20 cents. What really ruined the stay was the host. While we were out on a day trip to Pompei, he entered our room without telling us, used the bathroom and left it unflushed and messy, and left the balcony door open with our belongings exposed. He also put toilet paper in the toilet despite four signs in the bathroom saying not to. When I messaged him, he denied it at first, then later claimed he had told us he was coming in to inspect the room. He hadn’t. In all my travels, I’ve never dealt with a host this unprofessional or inconsiderate. If you stay here, be prepared for the host’s rudeness and unprofessional behavior.

A lovely choice!

The apartment is on a main street near the station, a great base for a couple of days, and the area didn’t feel unsafe. Everything was clean, and the room looked just like the pictures, with its own bathroom. The host was flexible about our arrival and departure times. We could check in at noon instead of 3 pm, which we really appreciated, and he also suggested places to leave our luggage if the room wasn’t ready. We’d been told the elevator cost €0.20, but it was free while we were there. Thanks for everything, I’d stay again.

We never actually stayed, so I can’t comment on the property itself. We booked through Booking.com for the whole week starting May 1, more than a month ahead, and had already planned the trip and bought train and museum tickets. Six days before leaving, after we’d paid, the owner told us the room had been overbooked and wasn’t available. He offered another room he said he kept for emergencies, free of charge but with no guarantee. We immediately felt something was off and declined. The owner canceled our reservation anyway, despite our objections to him and Booking.com. Booking.com at least refunded us. There was no apology for nearly making us cancel the whole trip because of HIS mistake. With the date so close, other places in central Naples cost twice as much, and we almost had to call everything off, losing the money spent on trains and attractions. To be clear, I can’t judge the accommodation, but the owner showed poor customer service and no empathy.
