Vesuvius Terminal

The room was lovely and clean, and we could see Vesuvius from the window. Breakfast at a nearby cafe was great, and there’s a supermarket about three minutes away, plus a good pizza place for dinner. The area around the hotel is a bit dirty and not the nicest, but we picked it because it’s only a one-minute walk from the train station. Luigi welcomed us, showed us around, and helped whenever we needed anything. The owner also let us leave our bags after checkout. They’re very accommodating. I’d stay here again when I’m back in Napoli. Thank you!

The hotel is right by a main train station with direct trains to Sorento, and the Port is about a 15-minute walk away. Antonio met us at the airport and drove us straight to the hotel. The room was incredible, and the host service was amazing. We also got a breakfast voucher for a drink, like a cappuccino or cafe, and a pastry at one of the great nearby cafes. I’d recommend staying here and would definitely return.

The manager sent me creepy texts at 1:30 in the morning, asking if I was OK and calling me honey. I’m mystified by the good reviews. There was no hand soap in the room, just little shampoo packets, and the elevator runs on coins. The woman who checked me in had one coin and promised to leave more, but never did. That meant a lot of stairs. My room was outside the “office,” and people nearby talked loudly on speakerphone in the evening and again in the morning. At least I was leaving early. The room had a deeply cloying perfume smell that wouldn’t go away, even after I aired it out all day. I was told it would be fine by the time I came back from my travels, but I ended up sleeping with my T-shirt over my face. And with bags over the rough pavement, it didn’t feel close enough to the train station. Terrible, awful, depressing place!

Our flight to Naples was delayed, so we booked here at the last minute and arrived in the city at 2:30 a.m. The room was clean, ready for us, and had air conditioning. The receptionist left the keys on the bedroom door and opened the main door remotely. We got a ticket for coffee and a croissant at a nearby coffee shop. The location worked well, right by a local train station and five minutes from the central station.
