Villa Cipriano - Relais di Charm

The staff were friendly, but the hotel manager didn't seem cooperative, and I would strongly advise against booking this place. We paid a high price for an expensive ‘Villa’ outside the city and had a very disappointing stay. We booked a Triple Deluxe room described as having a balcony and garden view, but our room had no proper window. When we asked why, we were told the room shown in the photos was already occupied. How can both rooms be sold at the same price and called deluxe? The only alternative offered was a smaller room with a mini window.

What a shame. We expected the advertised triple deluxe room with a balcony and garden view, but got one with neither, and not even a proper window. They explained there are two triple deluxe rooms and the other one had already been booked. We could either downgrade for the same price or leave.

I felt very welcome, and the staff were kind, professional, and always available. They spoke good English, and I also heard good French. Villa Cipriano is a wonderfully restored villa, brought up to contemporary design and standards, and worked really well for a weekend trip. Depending on which runway Naples airport is using, you may hear planes landing. That's simply part of the location and not Villa Cipriano's fault. Thank you to everyone on staff. It's in a gated area, a little out of town and surrounded by apartment blocks, which makes the location a bit unusual. It still felt safe. The metro is a 10 minute walk away and was cheap: one stop to shops and restaurants, and the same line took you down to the bay area for 1.5 euro for a single journey.
