We stayed in the Mirto studio, which was clean and fully equipped, with a big terrace and a layout that works well for two. The property is in Bagnoli, close to amenities just a minute or two away, and well connected. The manager was friendly and very helpful. Street parking was easy and there was always a spot, or there’s a paid garage very close by.

The owner was really friendly and pointed us to good spots for pizza and fresh fruit nearby. We had a wonderful stay at Villa Rosa, a tastefully renovated old villa close to the seafront and subway.

I strongly advise staying away. I lived there for a year with my partner, and the owner is a thief. He charged a different amount every month and, before we moved in, asked for a €200 deposit plus €1,000 a month under the table for a mezzanine room. We returned the place in better shape than we found it, as shown in the photos I’m attaching from when we moved in, but he kept the deposit, blaming shortened curtains. The apartment had a washing machine that only used cold water and couldn’t be set to any program, unlike the machines in other apartments. That left us no way to wash the curtains except in cold water, after he’d taken €1,000 a month. He said we should take them to the dry cleaner, which seemed crazy for Ikea curtains costing €25 each, €50 total. He always wanted cash so nothing would be tracked. He claimed the house had been sanitized before we got it, but the photos I’m posting show otherwise. He’s intrusive, too. He’d appear at the door, come in, and go upstairs without asking permission. Once I’m paying, he has no right to enter without a message or phone call first. I’m attaching photos from October 2, the day we moved in. If you’re in Bagnoli, don’t go near this place.

The owner was very kind and helpful, and the apartment is close to both the subway and the Cumana train station. The kitchen is small but has everything needed. The terrace is enormous, though it’s really only useful if you want to eat while looking at the surrounding buildings. A broom and dustpan would’ve helped, since a quick sweep can be handy on a longer stay. We had apartment no. 5, Mirto, which feels more like a small room. Once the sofa bed is opened, there’s so little space that you can’t leave a suitcase outside the closet.
