Villino Chiara

The next morning, the owner called to ask what time suited us for the boiler technician, but he still arrived earlier than planned. When we raised the problems, she kept blaming us and never apologized. Getting there had already been awful. The owner had told us there'd be a €10 surcharge for each hour after 8:00 PM, and my four friends and I checked into "Villino Santa Chiara" at 11:00 PM, after arranging it with her. The hostess was rude from the start and only told us when we arrived that the boiler was broken. We accepted that sympathetically, then politely asked why the owner was taking photos of our documents, since there's a privacy law against it. She yelled that we had to leave and she wouldn't let us sleep there. We objected and stayed, since five girls couldn't realistically find somewhere else at 11:30 PM. The house was filthy and full of unnecessary stuff. There was hair in the sheets, the rugs were black, the guest toiletries were months or years past their expiry dates, cockroaches and animals of dubious origin were in the apartment, and the bathroom door was broken. In 2022, this kind of situation shouldn't exist!
