Ylisea Luxury B&B

The Corallo room was spacious and nicely furnished, with a very comfortable double bed. We were given a crib for our newborn even though we hadn’t requested one, and there was a welcome bottle of wine and some snacks in the fridge. Breakfast supplies were neatly arranged in the room, though we always went out to eat. The bathroom is modern, with a tub and a blind. I like baths, but the curtain added for showering doesn’t work well: water gets everywhere, and that felt risky with a toddler walking around. The location is strategic, and the paid shuttle between the station and B&B was handy. We stayed three days with family, and I found the place accessible even with a small child. Based on earlier reviews I expected a huge steep staircase, but didn’t encounter that. Still, it wouldn’t be an easy choice for someone with a disability. Naples has plenty of hills and cobblestones, so it can be a bumpy place for a first visit. The room could use a window setup that lets in daylight when the shutters are open, since it feels underground. Phone service doesn’t work without the B&B Wi-Fi, so calls are a problem. There was also a lot of humidity, especially in the bathroom, and a damp bathrobe wasn’t pleasant. Slippers for guests would be a nice touch. I’d stay here again if I returned to Naples, but would request a room with a shower and ask about a dehumidifier or fresh towels each day.

The mattress and pillows deserve five stars. We had a great couple of days, and the room was cozy, well-equipped, and really nice. The owner was helpful and attentive, and everything was cleaned thoroughly. Getting around the location takes some stamina because there are lots of steps. My only real complaint is that the windows don’t properly bring in light or fresh air.

The suites feel like peaceful little retreats, great for relaxing and romance. The B&B has lovely finishes and sits right in the heart of the city, making it a convenient base for planned sightseeing. Guests are given maps with routes and travel times to the best-known attractions. I appreciated how much care they put into helping guests, with advice and suggestions throughout the trip, not just while you’re at the property.

The stairs up to the B&B can be awkward with suitcases, but the location is excellent. We were welcomed by a very kind, helpful host, and enjoyed a pleasant stay. Our room was clean, comfortable, and nicely furnished, and the bathroom looked great too. It’s a shame there’s no radiator to warm it. Breakfast is brought to the room, with coffee, tea, milk, and fruit juice.
