Masseria Nucci

The Masseria felt like an abandoned building to us. The unfinished dirt road leading up to it had overgrown bushes that scratched our vehicle. The steep road had no barrier separating it from the adjacent farm ground and no lighting. The grounds were unkempt, and the photos didn't show how damaged the furniture and property were. The floor had holes, furniture was broken and chipped with sharp edges, and cheap plastic coverings on the tables looked ugly. The room smelled damp, the bathrooms seemed from another century, and the very old refrigerator was unplugged. The antique furnishings and decorations looked neglected, as if they had been left in an abandoned building. Half the rooms can only be reached by a very steep, narrow staircase, unsuitable for children or older people. We were told there would be three beds, but one was closer to a hospital bed in size and not suitable for an adult or young adult. The pool costs extra each day. We couldn't use it because they couldn't find a lifeguard, which was required, and there was no shade. When we asked about umbrellas, none could be provided. We left as soon as we had seen the property because it didn't seem safe and there weren't proper beds for our group, which included two older adults and a 15 month old. The owners kept all the money for our booked week, even after we pointed out these issues, so we had to pay for somewhere else as well. We've been visiting Puglia for over 7 years and have stayed at countless places, including other Masseria, and never seen anything like it. It felt like a scam. Don't risk your vacation or your money booking here.
