We were excited for the visit, but ended up leaving early. The hotel's location is wonderful, and the reception and breakfast spaces are beautiful. Our room, though, was a letdown: beige walls that needed paint, beige floors and bedding, and just one chair tucked in a corner. There were no lovely frescos like other guests described, only two old, faded French newspapers on the walls. It was dark, and the shared living room had no air conditioning, so we couldn't spend time there. That part of the hotel really needs updating.

The hotel staff were helpful and knew the local restaurants well, and breakfast was lovely, with plenty of local produce. The restored building is magnificent, with large rooms that are mostly well equipped, though the bathroom could use more counter space. We paid €10 a day to park in the hotel's garage about 50 meters away. It saved us the trouble of searching for a space, and was money very well spent. Nardo itself is a small, historic city full of churches and palazzi, many of them now hotels. Relais Monastero is one of those hidden gems.

The €10-a-day parking was a huge help for the week, especially with a car, since the spaces are in the centro storico. We also used the laundry service, which was affordable and returned our clothes within 24 hours. We stayed for a week in December, and the price felt great for the spacious rooms and fantastic location. A wonderful local hotel.

We hadn't heard much about Nardo and weren't sure about it while touring Puglia, but this place made our three days feel like a dream. The restored rooms are gorgeous, almost like staying in a palace or museum, and it felt like one of the most romantic places in Nardo, maybe even the Puglia area. The staff were professional and helpful. We absolutely loved it.

The receptionist was friendly and helpful, and gave us great restaurant tips for Nardo. The place itself is charming and very beautiful. Breakfast, though, was the poorest we had during our honeymoon in Italy.
