The views and the quiet from this hilltop village are hard to beat, and the house really does feel like a castle. Anna was very welcoming and told us about the house and the area. We stayed two nights in October. Breakfast was coffee and cakes, much like elsewhere in Italy. For an affordable break from the city and a chance to feel like you’re staying in a castle, I’d recommend it.

Our room looked out over the village, and the atmosphere inside felt like being castle dwellers. The place is also in a strategic spot for seeing the village. We spent a weekend in Umbria here, and Mrs. Anna was warm and kind, making us feel at home. It’s an enchanting place that seems to stand outside of time. We’ll definitely come back. The room had a splendid view, and the nightly price was affordable. Signora Anna’s kindness really made a difference, along with the care she put into breakfast: cakes and biscuits, and even an offer to take croissants with us. The main square is a gem. We had a very pleasant stay at the B&B in Castello di San Vito, though the building does look a bit dated.

It’s a beautiful place, almost like living in a fairytale castle from the 1400s, and the owner was very helpful. The old-fashioned look runs from the entrance through to the rooms. There’s no bidet, and I found breakfast a little short on variety. It’s also somewhat out of the way if you want to do other things. Still, if peace and quiet are what you’re after, I recommend it.

I came back to this B&B in the little village inside the castle walls to revisit some lovely memories from a few years ago. The landscape is beautiful, and everything feels untouched by time. It’s a quiet escape from the city.
