What made Villa Bernasco so memorable was the welcome. After our delayed flight brought us in very late, Lucia stayed up to greet us, all kindness and no complaint. Carla was equally lovely each morning, sharing ideas for the day and patiently helping with my halting Italian. She made the place feel like a friend's home. The restaurant was a highlight of our trip through Italy. Executive Chef Marcello, his wife Rita, and son Lorenzo serve tasting menus and à la carte dishes with a broad regional wine selection. It was easily our best meal of the trip, and Marcello even pointed us to good local olive oils to take home. The setting is a relaxed village in the Piemonte wine area, with restaurants nearby on foot. Barolo is 14 minutes away, Alba 25, and Barbaresco 28. It feels central while still being quiet enough to unwind. The villa is a beautiful renovation of a historic building, both impressive and welcoming. There’s gated parking, a rooftop terrace with wonderful views of the village and Alps, a lovely room with a private balcony, plus an on-site sauna, jacuzzi, and pool. The details have all been carefully thought through. We left already hoping to come back.

The rooms are spacious, clean, and well looked after, and the hotel itself is lovely. Lucia and Carla keep everything running smoothly. At the restaurant, Chef Marcello serves a great range of dishes. I tried both the snail and fassona menus, and each was 10/10. Marcello himself deserves 15 out of 10, such a warm, friendly person, and his family working alongside him are just as nice.

We were happy to visit Villa Bernasconi again. The friendly, helpful host is always ready to assist, and the hotel has big, clean rooms and a very nice pool area. Saunas are now included, though using one in hot weather may not suit everyone. One thing to know is that the hotel sits at an intersection, with plenty of daytime traffic and noise from large trucks. Breakfast was included, but disappointed us a little this time. The machine coffee was lukewarm, the eggs weren't very good, some bread was quite dry, and there was no juice, just fruit-flavored water.

What stands out most from our 10 days here is how kind everyone was and how hard they worked. We felt completely at home, and could easily drive to lots of places from this hotel in the heart of the best wine areas in Piedmonte. The whole place is spotless, beautifully decorated, and comfortable. We slept so well and ate like kings. The restaurant inside the hotel served gourmet dishes I hadn't come across anywhere else in Italy. Everything about this place felt top quality, and I’d recommend it to everyone.

Carla was a wonderful host for our weekend at Villa Bernasconi, and the welcoming staff and great atmosphere made it a superb break. Our room was spacious and nicely designed. The pool and jacuzzi were in great shape and lovely for unwinding. We had a beautiful dinner in the restaurant, then took the wine up to the rooftop terrace to finish it. We'd definitely recommend dining there. Thanks to Carla and the team, we’ll be back!
