The road through the mountains is beautiful, though we only got to appreciate the scenery the next morning. We arrived at 10pm without booking ahead or having dinner, and the B&B owner kindly made a meal just for us. She seemed genuinely happy to have guests so late, and we had a lovely chat, hearing about each other's stories. We had a great stay.

Paola made us feel very welcome with coffee and water after we arrived on a brutally hot day. We had come on a cycling trip and decided spontaneously to stay for one night. Getting in touch with her was easy, and she cooked us a delicious dinner that evening. We had the whole first floor to ourselves, with a bedroom, living room, and bathroom, all with incredibly beautiful old terrazzo floors. We could store and charge our bikes safely, and even use the washing machine. It was a wonderful, unforgettable stay, and we'd love to come back.

Italy is charming, but people matter most, and this was a place where I really felt the kind of rural hospitality Koreans talk about. It was my last day in the country, and I think I'll remember the host's warm, thoughtful care for a long time.
