The family farm and vineyard are just down the road, and their wines were much better than the usual ones. We had them with great traditional family cooking from the full-time chef. Ask!

We stopped here for one night on the way and found a real hidden gem. The rooms are spacious, the bed was very comfortable, and the hosts were awesome and really accommodating. It has a fantastic old-world atmosphere, with rustic elegance.

The food was okay, though not excellent, and I felt the same about the wine. That wasn't really the issue. At 10 o'clock we were told to clear the table and go to our room because it needed cleaning, even though we hadn't finished our drinks. Only after I protested did they clear another table for us to keep drinking at, but by then we'd lost interest. I've never had this kind of treatment in Italy. Usually there's somewhere people can sit together. It was really annoying and spoiled the holiday.

We stayed in September 2020, and the rooms had been renovated. I highly recommend both staying and eating at I Comelli. It's a great-value, family-run Agriturismo with really, really good food and its own local wines.
