After more than 30 years of holidaying in Italy, usually at hotels with meals, I’ve always thought it was hard to find bad food there. MP Hotel changed my mind. At these prices, which are on par with three-star hotels, I felt the stay was worth only half of what I paid. Some things really disappointed me. Parmesan came in one shared bowl and only if we asked. There was no whole baked or grilled fish, despite being by the sea. One meal was literally a plate with a piece of meat and nothing else, which hardly seemed acceptable by restaurant standards. At breakfast, fresh fruit was chopped into tiny pieces. I don’t understand why native Italians stay here, unless they’re getting a free stay from the state.

We came for a summer holiday and returned for several weekends. The staff and manager are friendly while still being professional, and our rooms were spotless. Breakfast was superb. The hotel is linked to beachfront resorts, which have every comfort and make it easy to relax by the splendid sea in Noli. The manager and staff there are top-notch too.

The MP bathrooms were genuinely satisfying too. At this small hotel, so close to the sea, our room and bathroom were spacious and extremely clean. The staff were efficient and very friendly. We always had excellent food at breakfast, lunch, and dinner, served promptly by helpful, welcoming staff.

We felt looked after and at home during our two nights at Hotel MP, and the price seemed average. It’s on the beautiful Ligurian coast, right by the sea. Our room was tidy and well cared for, with a sea view, and the bathroom was spotless. Everyone on staff was kind and friendly. We stayed full board. Lunch and dinner brought excellent pasta courses, main dishes, and desserts from the chef, with a menu provided each day. The breakfast buffet had hot and cold drinks and tasty tarts the chefs baked every morning. Half board and full board both include the hotel beach, with loungers and umbrellas in the price. There’s also a bar with a kitchen for meals on the beach.
