Netum Hotel

Private parking is available on the premises, and the centre of Noto is only a 10 minute walk away. We had a pleasant stay, with great rooms and service, a good choice at breakfast, and friendly, helpful staff.

The morning receptionist was very nice, but the woman at reception earlier left me feeling awful. I’d paid for my room in advance and arrived dressed nicely, yet she was extremely suspicious and impolite. I believe it was racism at its best. When I said there were no tissues in my room, she first questioned whether that was true, then said she had lost all the tissues. After waiting a few hours, I asked if we could take a box from another room. She agreed, without a good excuse, then followed me back to ask for the empty box as if I might steal it. The room itself was extremely dark, the shower tiny, and the breakfast inedible. The hotel is outside the city in a residential area. I chose it partly because it was supposed to be quiet, but there was noise outside all night. I probably would have slept better in the center of Noto. I really don’t understand the good reviews. This was the worst place I stayed during my 10 days in Sicily.

The triple room was very spacious, but being on the Groundfloor meant its window faced a wall with no view. The hotel was well kept and had a modern touch, and the staff were very helpful. Breakfast could use more variety. For what we paid in mid July, we were very happy.

There’s a decent supermarket just around the corner, and minibar prices are very reasonable. Reception were extremely helpful, including Anna, who lent us her own umbrella. The hotel was stylish and comfortable, the rooms well laid out, parking plentiful, breakfasts good, and it was very quiet. The location isn’t the prettiest, and getting to Noto old town takes at least 10 minutes on foot, so you need to be able to walk OK. That’s why I hesitated between four and five stars.
