Villa Zammarra

Breakfast was lovely: homemade jams, fruit from the property’s trees and baked goods from the local village. Antonio and his family take hospitality seriously. As Antonio’s mom said, Sicilians learned it from the ancient Greeks. The house, built by Antonio’s grandfather, sits in a peaceful, pastoral spot away from tourist crowds. Antonio and his family renovated the important details, making it a wonderful place to relax by the pool, look out toward the distant sea and take in the real Sicily. Great place.

A beautiful house surrounded by nature, and a great base for exploring southern Sicily. Our host Antonio was very friendly and helpful, and made it easier to get the most out of the trip.

The peaceful setting in the hills, with lovely views across the Noto countryside, had me unwinding as soon as I arrived at B&B zammara. Antonio has lovingly created and cared for so many picturesque outdoor spots. The facilities were comfortable and clean, and we cooled off in the swimming pool every day. Breakfast became a favourite part of the morning: delicious coffee and pastries, and, depending on the season, you might get lucky with freshly picked apricots like we did. Antonio and his wonderful wife Heika, I hope I’ve spelled that right, were perfect hosts. We felt cared for and safe, which meant a lot on my first post-COVID trip and helped me switch off and relax. The other guests were friendly and kind, and they were all returning visitors. Our last night felt like a movie, with a red moon lighting up the sky. I was genuinely tearful when it was time to leave. I could write much more, but I’ll save it for the next visit I intend to book. We can’t wait to come back. Thank you for a wonderful stay I’ll remember forever!

For a bit of relaxation in the Noto Valley, this is the place. Antonio, the owner, is super helpful with any request. Highly recommended.
