The bed was one of the worst I’ve slept on. It felt like a box spring instead of a mattress, and after five nights my back and neck were killing me. My room was quiet, though my coworker on the other side of the building was woken by church bells at 7 every morning. Check-in was great. The staff were courteous and carried my suitcases to the room. The room was what you’d expect from a three-star hotel. Breakfast was included with a good selection, and a woman took coffee orders. I had dinner at the hotel once and was very happy with both the meal and service. I charged dinner to my room and only found out at checkout that they don’t accept American Express. I was annoyed this wasn’t mentioned at check-in, since I’d booked with my Amex. It was a work trip, and I was meant to pay for everything with that card. I hadn’t brought another physical card because I had Google Wallet on my phone, with a €150 limit per tap. Luckily I could tap a few times before my card was flagged for suspicious activity, and I had just enough cash for the rest. The women at reception were very kind about it, but I don’t know how I’d have paid if I’d stayed longer without another way to pay. The people were lovely, and I’d eat here again, but I wouldn’t stay here again. That bed was awful.
