Agriturismo Costiolu

The land is beautiful, and I enjoyed seeing all the animals, including the many dogs and cats. The owner was kind and did his best to make us feel welcome, even though it was hard to communicate because he didn't speak English. He even asked the cook to come in just to prepare our dinner. That meal was lovely, and he put together breakfast too, with homemade yoghurt, boiled eggs, bread and honey. Eating alone in the large dining room felt a little odd, though, and we were the only guests. This is a working farm, rather than a farm stay set up for guest activities. If you're hoping for walks, tours, vines, fruit picking or a broader “farm experience,” you may feel like you're in the way. We wandered up and down the very long driveway until dinner, then left the next morning. It's a good option if you're bringing a caravan and want somewhere to park while enjoying the landscape, but I wouldn't recommend staying in the property rooms. The room was very clean, and they supplied a fan, but there was no air conditioning. The bed was very hard and the hot water wasn't working. Farming is tough, and I respect people trying to make it work with other income, but this place doesn't seem well set up for that.
